application process - Food for the Hungry

Academic Credit:

Make sure you will get the credit you earn! Check with your college’s study abroad or registrar’s office to see if they already accept transfer credit for Go ED. courses. If you are interested in getting your university to become a Go ED. sending institution, awarding full transfer credit for Go ED., please have a faculty member or administrator contact us to begin the process of building an agreement with your university (call Beth Allen 1-877-780-4261, X1168). Your university can opt to receive a transcript for Go ED. courses from either the program’s host universities overseas (Uganda Christian University for Go ED. Africa) or from one of our program anchor partners in the U.S.:

Overseas universities awarding credit for Go ED. Africa and/or sending national students (non U.S. students) includes (Daystar University, Kenya; Uganda Christian University, Uganda).

Minimum Application Requirements:

Minimum 3.00 cumulative GPA
College Junior or Senior at the start of the program

Semester Dates:

Spring: Orientation will be held in Phoenix the first full week of January. pending travel schedule

Deadlines:
Spring:
October 15 - Application and all corresponding documents must be received (If the 15th falls on a weekend, documents are due the Friday before)
November 10 - Go ED. will notify students of acceptance
Fall:
April 15 - Application and all corresponding documents must be received (If the 15th falls on a weekend, documents are due the Friday before)
May 10 - Go ED. will notify students of acceptance

Application Information:
Food for the Hungry must receive the following information by the above due date(s) for each semester. You can download (.pdf format) and print the appropriate forms, then mail the originals to the address below. To help expedite, you can also fax, then mail the originals.

On-line application

$50.00 Application Fee (non refundable) - you can submit your Application Fee on-line, or mail to the below address -- checks payable to Food for the Hungry. (Your application will not be processed until we receive your application fee.)

Once you are accepted by Food for the Hungry to the Go ED. Africa Semester Abroad Program, there will be a required $300.00 deposit. This deposit will be applied toward your tuition cost for the program.
