The entire world in mind . . .
The approach is different in that we desire to build a community that will reach the city in which it lives and then reach the country in order to reach the world. In other words, we view the college campus setting, not as a place where students study, but as a unique aspect of culture where men and women gather together under the umbrella of higher education.
The University campus has become a foundational aspect of global culture in such a way that markont color html
eting agencies have this entire community in mind. There is a distinct culture that must be seen as a whole and cannot be parceled out.
The FH campus ministry approach is holistic. We will not only view the entire University as a cultural phenomenon that is complete with its own mores, but also as an integral part of the city in which it stands. The University often provides great economic benefit to whatever city surrounds it, so there is a reciprocal community impact. As the University goes, so goes the city. Likewise, as the city goes, so benefits the University.
The approach to the campus, then, is a holistic one and the focus can be seen as follows:
Reaching the Campus >> Reaching the City >> Reaching the Country >> Reaching the World.
Viewing the University as an integral part of the whole culture and also seeing the University as a whole culture in and of itself is part of the uniqueness of the FH campus ministry. Vital links will be sought between the campus ministry and existing community ministries to better meet the spiritual and physical needs of the city. Once these bridges are built, intentional relationships will be explored to build up the entire city and then challenge other cities to do the same.
Since colleges and Universities are often the place where ideas are formulated and molded in to the fabric of a young person’s life, we will seek to shape future communities as well.
