Kristen Damron

Kristen returned to the United States in September 2004 after spending six months with the Maasai People in the eastern part of Kenya. There, near the town of Narok, she served as a missionary and an AIDS counselor. During her time there she expanded her mission to educating women on market days, visiting schools, and teaching at community meetings. Throughout her time in Kenya, Kristen’s love for the people and determination to provide more people with AIDS prevention education sparked a passion within her to develop and implement programs in Africa, which would have a larger scale affect.

Her desire to serve all people and to serve them wholly, led her to Food for the Hungry. Their vision to serve both the physical and spiritual hungers of people worldwide resonated within her. She soon found herself with an opportunity to serve in the very capacity God had put on her heart when she left Kenya.

Kristen graduated from George Fox University with Bachelors degrees in social work and sociology. She currently lives with her family in Santa Rosa, California. Kristen is looking forward to departing for Ziway, Ethiopia, in April of 2006. She has wholeheartedly accepted a position with the Ethiopian Food for the Hungry staff in developing the Ziway HIV/AIDS Prevention, Care and Support Project.

Please prayerfully consider supporting Kristen with a special gift or a monthly pledge and become part of her support team.

On behalf of Kristen, Food for the Hungry would like to thank you for your support which allows her to work in Ethiopia.
