Thousands dead in Chinese quake

 

A powerful earthquake with a reported magnitude of 7.8 struck the southwest province Sichuan province in China at approximately 2:30 PM local time (6:30 AM GMT). Early reports show that 7,000 people have been killed, including many students buried in the rubble of a school. The epicenter of the earthquake occurred about 57 miles from Chengdu, Sichuan's provincial capital. Our FH staff has already reported in and all are safe and accounted for and have started assessing the damage and determining how FH can respond. Please pray for the victims of the quake and for our staff as
they reach out with the
love of Christ to those hurting.

In partnership with City of Phoenix officials and key community leaders, Food for the Hungry's City Initiatives work continues to emphasize collaboration and cooperation to bless and bring relief to people living in Phoenix and around the world.
