1-2 year positions
In general we urge prospective Hunger Corps to serve initial terms of three years or more on the field. However, we do have a limited number of 1-2 year positions available.

Our short-term positions provide valuable support either to the missionary community or to our field staff. Short-term administrative assistants can be vital cultural "bridges" between the field office and the US office. Teachers serving abroad can help by providing adequate schooling for the children of our staff and other missionaries.

Because of the short duration of the term, these positions are most likely to be in a central office or school setting rather than in the communities where we serve, due to lack of time to learn the language and culture. That doesn't make these positions any less important! In fact, our offices often say that US staff willing to serve in these positions are some of their most valued workers. You will have an opportunity to serve, encourage and build up national staff members who are on the "front lines" of holistic ministry.

In cases where the office language is not English, our 1-2 year applicants would be required to have at least intermediate fluency in the language.

IN-01 Native English Speaker Education Officer *Summary:* Plans, organizes, and implements English lessons both within the public elementary school and as extracurricular programs. Responsible for teaching language acquisition and ESL methodology classes for English Teachers. Based in FHI/Indonesia’s field office Meulaboh and reports to the Education Program Manager. Position to be filled for a minimum 1 year. *Requirements:* Excellent English language skills, teachable spirit, passion for FHI core values, ability to write reports, business correspondence, lesson plans, and assessment tools.
