At first you spend one day a week learning at the textile center, taking your younger daughters with you. You have not earned any money yet, since you are just beginning. Your husband misses your help in the fields and is impatient with you to earn some money to make up for the time away from your work. In addition to field work, you grind grains and cook food, carry wood and water, wash clothes and care for your small children.
Also at the center is a reading class. You would like to go to it. You had one year at a mission school when you were young, and you remember how exciting it was. This would mean almost another full day away from home.
You and your husband discuss whether or not you should take the reading class.
