She makes the trip 4 to 6 times a day ... traversing the rocky, precarious path from her home to the trickling fresh-water spring. But this day, while lugging the heavy jerrycan back home, simply stumbling on the path and falling on a pointed rock costs the life of her unborn baby.

I just returned from Rwanda with a group from our church. We saw the start of a water project in the Shyogwe diocese that our church funded. The water project will enable the health clinic (funded and built by FH/Rwanda in partnership with FH/Switzerland) to become a health center as well as benefit a large rural community with more accessible water sources.
We are looking for water pjt funding options for this project because the first budget has proven too conservative by half. Any ideas for foundations or orgs that do matching grant funding for water projects? The new budget to complete the project will need a new $45K USD for completion.
Thanks!

Has FH ever worked with Engineers without Borders? They would be a great resource for water and other engineering projects.

Hi Hannah! They are a great organization. We've worked with a few different engineering non-profits. Not sure about Engineers Without Borders.

So I just joined this group, and the community on fh. I have been sponsoring a child for a while now but want to eventually do more. I am a mechanical engineer who has experience in a few different water purification methods. I just wanted to throw that information out there, never know who's out there or what it can lead to...

Joseph, welcome to the group! We are glad to have you on the ground floor of the MyFH community. In the future you'll see lots of water-related updates here that you'll be interested in as a mechanical engineer. Stay tuned.
