Each year, Food for the Hungry sends out hundreds of people on short-term mission teams. These teams are composed of church adults, college and youth groups, community health teams, university Christian groups and teams from Christian high schools. Group teams with Food for the Hungry allow you to focus on building and leading your team as we help simplify the process of mobilizing your group to serve a community overseas.
Before You Go
Food for the Hungry will guide your group through the entire process. Your journey begins at home with the ministry preparation guide. This guide will take you through the steps of support-raising ideas, specific cultural and country information, a packing list, team-building activities, servant-hood Bible study, guidelines on safety issues, debriefing and re-entry material and more. You will also receive lessons plans to help you complete six 2-hour training sessions together as a team.
On The Field
Once arriving in your country, you will go through orientation training provided by Food for the Hungry Hunger Corps missionaries and/or national staff. These staff will provide language support, arrange your transportation, and provide meals and lodging while in the country.
Arriving Home
After your safe arrival home, Food for the Hungry will debrief you and have continuing follow-up with all your team members.
