The second annual Trek for Hope was held June 9-13, 2010 in the mountains of Colorado. This group of Trekkers utilized the Walter Tishma Way, an Inn-to-Inn Hiking Footpath in Colorado from Estes Park to Allenspark that travels through the Rocky Mountain National Park.
A group of ten Trekkers took the theme “50 for 50 Trek for Hope” to heart and truly brought “hope to the hard places” by completing their Trek and reaching beyond their fund-raising goal of raising $50,000.
We give thanks to God for the faithful sponsors and their gifts that helped save lives and bring hope to those in great need, especially orphans, widows and vulnerable families.

While I have supported ministry efforts most of my life, I have always had a desire to accomplish something significant and meaningful for a worthwhile compassion ministry that brings hope and new life to those in difficult places. In 2010, celebrated my 50th birthday, and was able to pursue that vision! Having experienced my first trek with Food for the Hungry in 2009, I knew that a 2010 trek would be the perfect opportunity to realize that dream.
The "50 for 50 - Trek for Hope" was comprised of a team of trekkers (some were first time trekkers) who linked arms with me in surpassing our vision and through our supporters raised over $70,000 in sponsorships using the Food for the Hungry gift guide and Haiti Relief! For those supported me on this trek, thank you for giving toward this vision that ultimately will honor Christ as we "continue to remember the poor" (Galatians 2:10).
