The children of Zeway
The children in Zeway live in a world that’s unfamiliar with Tom’s students in Memphis. While the boys and girls in his class enjoy many fine things in life, the children in Zeway do not even know what it’s like to study in a real classroom! Until Tom's first Hunger Ride last year, they had no desks, chairs, books, crayons and other school supplies. Food, water and medical care are still in short supply. Many of them are HIV/AIDS orphans.
How the money will help
The money will help strengthen and support Ethiopian churches that are caring for various communities suffering from HIV/AIDS; supply school supplies such as books, uniforms, malaria nets and desks for children affected by HIV/AIDS; and provide relief aid such as clean water and food stipends for families.
