Who We Are

Since 1971, Food for the Hungry has served and spoken out for the poor. By the power and grace of God, our organization sends men and women to help impoverished communities achieve lasting and sustainable transformations. Food for the Hungry goes beyond being a relief and development organization. We are a tested, trusted and innovative partner who walks with the poor in more than 26 countries while reflecting the love of Jesus.

Within the pages of this website, you’ll be introduced to the people being helped by our organization. Also, you’ll meet the more than 1,800 courageous men and women responding to God’s call to end physical and spiritual hunger in some of the world’s harshest environments.

They are people like Meshac Samba, who serves in conflict-ridden Democratic Republic of the Congo, spreading the hope that comes only through Christ. And John Marsden, whose leadership has spurred the rapid growth of women’s savings groups in Bangladesh, transforming their families and their communities.  
We share this information with you to give you a deeper understanding of our work, and in doing so, hope to gain your support for our vision to seek and assist the poor worldwide.
