Food for the Hungry walks with leaders, churches and families in more than 26 countries around the world … off the beaten path, hard places where daily survival is a lifelong struggle.
Whether it’s a war-ravaged resettlement camp in Southern Sudan, a shanty town in Peru, or a fishing village destroyed by a tsunami in Indonesia, Food for the Hungry walks alongside the poor, helping them reach their God-given potential. God calls us particularly to those places of poverty that are hurting and often unstable," says Food for the Hungry President Benjamin K. Homan. Our calling is to go to 'rocky terrain.' "If we wanted smooth paths, we would not venture into places such as Sudan, Northern Uganda, Cambodia, Bangladesh and so many other places.
