SHEP OWEN

Senior Director of Relief & Humanitarian Affairs

Since 2005, Shep Owen has been a leader of both international and domestic programs at Food for the Hungry (FH). Currently the Senior Director of Relief and Humanitarian Affairs, Shep responds to poverty in rapidly changing contexts. He has served in roles including FH Senior Director of Partnerships, Africa Regional Director in Nairobi, Country Director in Kenya, and Program Director in The Democratic Republic of Congo.

Shep has a bachelor’s degree in History from the University of Oklahoma and a Master of Science in Public Policy and Management from London’s School of Oriental and African Studies.

Shep lives in Washington, D.C., and is passionate about responding to God’s call in critical situations.
