It’s not OK that vulnerable children around the world remain in extreme poverty because they lack access to quality education. That’s why an education gift will go a long way in helping children overcome poverty and reach their God-given potential. When students have the necessary tools to learn, such as books, uniforms, desks, supplies, even classrooms, their attendance, concentration, and performance improves.

Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.
— Nelson Mandela

School uniforms are often required for attendance, meaning without one, a child must stay home. When a family can’t afford a school uniform, the children forego an opportunity to break the cycle of poverty through education.

In many of the schools where FH works, textbooks are extremely limited. Six or more students are forced to share one book while many courses don’t have student textbooks at all. Teachers read aloud while a student transcribes everything on the blackboard. When students have the necessary tools to learn, their attendance, concentration, and performance all improve.

With this 200-liter water tank, located near their home, vulnerable families will be able to easily and efficiently irrigate their gardens and produce plenty of veggies to eat and sell at the market. That means their children will have access to nutritious food and they will be able to earn an additional income with the surplus of vegetables. This gift will be life-changing for a family.

Children who are learning how to read can practice their new skills while reading fun stories that teach them to love learning.

A school desk dramatically improves the learning environment in a school contributing to the students’ attendance, concentration, and performance. When children are forced to sit on the floor and use a wood plank to write, they have a difficult time completing assignments or staying focused, and their overall performance is compromised.
