Northern Ethiopia Crisis Relief
You can help some of the estimated 8.1 million needing aid in conflict-torn northern Ethiopia.Â
The conflict has brought widespread destruction of homes, crops, livestock, and community buildings, including hospitals and schools. Fighting in the region, which includes long-time FH work zones, has resulted in large-scale displacements, increasing humanitarian needs. Adults and children alike desperately need emergency shelter, food, safe and clean drinking water, medicines and health services, and protection services for vulnerable women and girls.
Food for the Hungry has been responding with specialized aid efforts since the conflict erupted in November 2020. Your help is needed to continue our vital work, which includes providing:
- Emergency food, in partnership with both the World Food Program and USAID, to both displaced persons and those who are unable to obtain food in their own communities due to conflict.
- Water, showers, and latrines to people living in displaced persons camps.
- Female dignity kits (feminine hygiene products) and protection from gender-based violence to displaced, vulnerable women and girls.
- Seed distributions for planting essential food crops.
Your donation will help FH continue to work with families who have lost nearly everything, including their food sources, clean water, shelter, and the ability to keep themselves clean and healthy due to the conflict.
