WHAT HAPPENED TO LITTLE MARIE?

In the Democratic Republic of the congo, Marie faced ongoing suffering from diarrhea and intestinal worms from the water she drank. She recovered - but barely three months later, she was stricken again. The cycle would be repeated - unless something happened.

Something happened. Generous friends just like you sent a Food for the Hungry team to Marie's village. They quickly realized why children were getting sick. People were drinking from pools of disease-infested groundwater, the only water they had. They must dig a well - and teach the truth about the link between clean water and health.

The transformation in this community was amazing. Children are no longer suffering and dying for lack of clean water. And instead of walking 1.2 miles to get water, now they walk just two minutes.

You can see the gratitude in her father's eyes. "Without this well," he says,"my kids might have died, starting with Marie."

Approximately 4,500 children die each day from illness linked to unsafe water.

But this can be prevented by your partnership with Food for the Hungry. With your tax-deductible contribution of $25, $50, or $120 to Food for the Hungry, matching grants from the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and other partners will multiply your gift 22 times to make life-saving clean water available to children. These grants are not guaranteed. We must provide our part of the match to receive the funds. Please partner with us to help bring clean water to children.

WE TAKE FINANCIAL ACCOUNTABILITY SERIOUSLY.

We know that for each dollar you give, you pray and sacrifice to help end world poverty. We are transparent in our financial practices, so you can see how your gifts are being used to help the poor.
