Emergency — Hurricane Eta
Give Life-Saving Aid
It’s been two weeks since Hurricane Eta hit — causing dangerous flooding, home evacuations, and landslides in many communities where FH serves in Guatemala and Nicaragua. And now, Hurricane Iota has also hit Central America. The road to recovery from this disaster will be long and hard. But FH was built to go into the hardest places and stay until the work is done. We can and will get there, together.
So we remain hopeful, despite the challenges:
- Risks for flooding and landslides are still extremely high. In fact we’re getting photos from our staff in Nicaragua showing rivers bursting their banks, flooding communities, sending families looking for higher ground.
- Our three FH field work regions in Guatemala are among the hardest-hit in the country, with 130,000 people affected.
- COVID-19 is adding stress to the already horrific crisis, as concerns around crowded households make it more difficult for families to find shelter with family and friends.
Suffering children and families in these hard-hit areas still need you right now — to deliver critical aid and save their lives!
Please give generously right away to rush emergency supplies — food, clean water, shelter, and more — that they need to survive … before it’s too late!
