In many of the schools where FH works, textbooks are extremely limited. Six or more students are forced to share one book while many courses don’t have student textbooks at all. Teachers read aloud while a student transcribes everything on the blackboard. When students have the necessary tools to learn, their attendance, concentration and performance all improves.
Ugandan School Thrives With Books!
The community of Bufukhula, Uganda used to conduct their school out under a tree in a field, with few resources. This made schoolwork incredibly difficult. After partnering with FH, they were able to receive a classroom including new school textbooks. These books helped revitalize education for this community by creating a better learning environment.
