Nathan is originally from the U.S. but grew up in Ecuador as a missionary kid. Cory was born and raised in a K’ekchi’ family in northern Guatemala. They got married in December 2001 and have 3 children (Bryan, Cynthia, and Natalie). Nathan and Cory both started working for Food for the Hungry/Guatemala in 2000. They have held various positions over the years. Nathan worked with short-term teams for two years, and was the assistant to the regional administrator for one year. Cory primarily worked in the central office, maintaining the database for sponsored children and helping with the development of the Child Sponsorship program in Guatemala. After that they worked together, supporting the K’ekchi’ Baptist Association, in the northern part of Guatemala, with the development of materials and training of nationals in the area of discipleship and leadership among primarily illiterate people. In July 2006, Nathan and Cory transitioned into a new role supporting the work of Food for the Hungry in Nicaragua. Nathan served as the National Program Director, focused on developing and strengthening the program structure that attends more than 25 communities in two different regions of the country and ensuring the projects are aligned with FH’s Vision, Mission, and Values. In December 2012, Nathan began a study assignment to focus on an MBA in International Development and supports part-time the Latin America and Caribbean Region as Sponsorship Program Advisor.
