David Bradford is the Country Director of Nicaragua and serves out of FH’s office in Managua, Nicaragua. He has more than 20 years of community development experience. David joined FH as Country Director in January 2020. Prior to this role, he spent the last 20 years serving many organizations and businesses in a variety of advising and consultant roles — most recently, Forests of the World, United States Peace Corps, German Agro Action, and the Norwegian Managua, among many. In these roles, he gained extensive experience in the development of integral monitoring systems to measure the impact of project and program activities at the community level. As Country Director, David is responsible for programmatic leadership and strategy in FH Nicaragua, serves as a liaison between the field office and the Regional and Global FH offices, oversees budgets, financial information, and development activities and programs, and he represents FH in Nicaragua in all official government activities as needed.

David earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Trent University in Canada. He also received a postgraduate diploma in Conflict Resolution from Uppsala University in Sweden, and has taken various courses and workshops on natural resource management, community planning and development, and international cooperation.

He says, “I am grateful to be serving in my country of birth in a capacity where I can use my God-given talents to contribute to the integral development of local communities.”
