Chief of Party/Head of Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC)
Geoffrey Nyakuni is the Chief of Party/Head of Mission at Food for the Hungry in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and serves out of FH’s office in Bukavu, DRC. He joined FH in 2011 as the Program Director for the DRC office. During this time, he exercised leadership in the role of Chief of Party for the USAID-funded DFSA program, then Head of Mission in May 2017. As Head of Mission, he served as FH’s chief representative in the DRC. In his current role, Geoffrey provides program management and oversees program implementation in the DRC, as well as provides staff management and development in alignment with FH’s organizational vision, mission, and purpose. He is also responsible for country strategy development, mobilizing resources, and enhancing internal systems for financial and security management in the context of DRC operations.
Geoffrey earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Food Science and Technology, and a Master’s degree in Public Health Nutrition from Makerere University.
