Kate Musimwa joined Food for the Hungry (FH) in 2020, bringing more than 20 years of experience working in development in Malawi, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. With a passion for communities and building efficiency within country offices, Kate seeks to support efficient processes and learning across regions to deliver quality programming to every community FH serves by working in partnership with FH’s regional directors and country directors in Asia, Africa, Latin America, and the Caribbean. Kate will also oversee FH’s relief and humanitarian affairs. She will utilize insight from her past experience partnering with donors, local governments, and peer organizations to effectively meet the needs of the communities FH serves.
Kate brings to FH skills she honed from her work at Pact, including experience in project management, stakeholder relationships, and supporting leaders. Throughout her 12 years at Pact, she worked as Pact’s Country Director of Malawi, Senior Regional Director for Francophone and Southern Africa, and Senior Regional Director of Africa. Kate speaks the majority of languages in Southern Africa and always exercised a desire to listen and hear solutions directly from communities. She brings this passion to FH, where she is excited to use her talents to serve FH’s mission and God’s calling.
Kate earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Zimbabwe and a Master’s in Disaster and Risk Management from the University of Free State South Africa.Â
