Leena Hill is the Deputy Director of International Operations at Food for the Hungry (FH) and serves out of the office in Washington, D.C. In this role, she provides key leadership and support to the Chief International Operations Officer to ensure that FH’s international operations are accountable and aligned to FH’s corporate strategy and Heartbeat, as well as integrated with other global units and stakeholders.
Leena has more than 15 years of experience in the humanitarian sector. Following the completion of her master’s degree, she served for two years as a United States Peace Corps volunteer in South Africa. Leena joined FH in May 2008 as a program officer for FH’s work in Relief and Humanitarian Affairs. Through various roles, she continued to support FH’s global humanitarian work until 2017, when she transitioned to international operations. Leena loves learning from different cultures and traditions and enjoys seeing the unique ways in which the Gospel is expressed in communities around the world.
Leena earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Communications from Western Washington University and a master’s degree in International Development from American University. She currently lives in Washington, D.C. with her husband and daughter.
