Mark Viso joins Food for the Hungry as part of his lifelong commitment to advocating for the marginalized and solving the problem of poverty. His career in international relief and development began when he volunteered with Food for the Hungry (FH) during a devastating famine in Ethiopia. Now, he returns to FH with 30 years of experience in international development. Throughout his career, Mark has accumulated extensive hands-on field experience and connections throughout the development sector.

In addition to this expertise, Mark has been active with various global initiatives including the World Economic Forum. He has also served on several boards, primarily for organizations focused on solving the challenge of poverty and marginalization.

He is a proud native of California and received his BA in International Affairs from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and graduate work at George Washington University.  Along with his wife, Kristine, and his son Booker, he is an avid biker, rock climber, kayaker, and backpacker.
