NOEMI GAMONAL
Country Director of Peru
Noemi Gamonal is the Country Director of Peru at Food for the Hungry (FH) and serves out of FH’s office in Lima, Peru. She has over 19 years of experience working on social development programs and projects focused on vulnerable childhoods. Noemi joined FH in 2010 as a Program Director and became passionate about the transformational work God was doing in communities through FH. In 2017, she assumed her current role as Country Director in Peru and felt called to serve in this leadership capacity. In this role, she is in charge of the country’s strategic plan, manages and leads FH staff, and along with her team, focuses on reaching the desired goal of graduating communities from extreme poverty.
Noemi earned a Master’s degree in Psychology with an emphasis on prevention and intervention in children and adolescents. She also specialized in childhood and social development management.
She says, “The future of a poor family made me work for children in need in my country. My life experience has driven and encouraged me to be an agent of change for the transformation of communities, and I am sure that I have the call of God to serve in FH Peru.”
