ETHIOPIAN HOMES RAVAGED BY FIRES
Ethiopia - Families are homeless after fires destroyed 31 houses in the community of Shashego in Ethiopia. These already poor families, some with infants, are now left without shelter or belongings. They face each day without food or water. And they must survive harsh heat from a glaring sun during the day and the danger of wild animals at night.
People like Tamirat Fanitaye and his family are homeless in a harsh environment. With six children, one being an infant, Tamirat, his wife and these young children face dangerous heat and sun during the day, causing dehydration and heat stroke. Without food or water, survival is very difficult. At night, the family faces attacks from dangerous animals.
They stay with other families under temporary shelters during the day, but these shelters are crowded and have no walls to protect them at night.
But with your help, Food for the Hungry can assist these families in rebuilding their homes by providing construction materials. As we start to rebuild their homes, we need your partnership to provide ongoing support so these families and their children can survive.
