The Whiting Family: Giving with Joyful Hearts

Sponsor Dubs Uganda Visit A Piece of Heaven

The entire village came to greet us with cheers and ululations (a joyous howl) as we walked down a little path to Annet’s home. At Food for the Hungry, we believe that when a community is equipped to care for its most vulnerable members, everyone is served and poverty is eliminated. We’ve learned that child sponsorship is one of the most successful ways for communities to rise out of poverty. Our child sponsorship program connects supporters with children whose lives, families, and communities they can invest in to bring about holistic transformation.

Travel to Guatemala to meet Natalia. She is a sponsored child with Food for the Hungry. In this video, she’ll share what is now different in her community. Studies said her and other children in her community would suffer from malnutrition like their parents, and would likely skip lots of school because of it. Thankfully everything changed. When Food for the Hungry entered her community, the parents were equipped with the skills, knowledge, and tools to better care for their children.
