Frequently Asked Questions
What is the breakdown of the FH operating expenses?
81.3% percent of resources go to FH’s programs with people living in poverty around the world. Through our ongoing relief and development work, FH walks alongside the most vulnerable to help end poverty and empower people to achieve sustainable livelihoods and renewed relationship to God, themselves, others, and the rest of creation.
Why are donation envelopes addressed to Albert Lea, MN?
We have found using an agency that provides donation processing services reduces our administrative costs. We don’t have to add another building, processing equipment, or additional staff. It keeps our overhead costs lower and gets donations to those who need it most faster.
Where do the grants come from?
Many of our grants come from USAID — the United States Agency for International Development or from agencies of the United Nations such as UNHCR or UNICEF. Food for the Hungry has been blessed to receive many such grants over the years. We have a track record of accomplishing, monitoring, and reporting on our work serving those in fragile or especially vulnerable contexts.
