Stephen is a loving father who toiled from dawn to dark farming his small plot in Uganda. But despite all his hard work, he battled to grow enough food for his family.
Stephen and his wife Kayanga knew they needed to try something new to earn more income, but they didn’t have the knowledge or the resources.
“The situation was extremely worrying. We were stuck,” says Stephen.
Stephen had big dreams for his children and their futures. But they couldn’t go to school because he couldn’t afford school fees, supplies, and uniforms.
“It was sad seeing our children at home instead of being at school,” his wife Kayanga says.
Hope arrives on four little hooves
Everything changed when someone caring like you gave Stephen a goat and training through Food for the Hungry…

That one goat multiplied. Stephen’s family sold the offspring, bought a cow, sold the cow, and used the proceeds to buy their own acre of land…

Now, he has plenty of food for his family and earns enough income to pay school fees.
Your goat is a gift that keeps on giving
Today, all of Stephen’s children are in school. He even has savings in the bank, and leads his local savings group to help others in his community grow strong and resilient.
That’s the kind of difference you can make by giving a goat to spark change in a family’s life so they can build a better future.
This Father’s Day, we’re inviting you to give the gift of a goat in honor of your dad to help struggling dads like Megerso in Ethiopia.

Megerso works hard as a farmer but harsh droughts destroy his crops, leaving his family feeling hungry and hopeless. He says:
“It’s a struggle to provide enough food for our children.
“There is nothing to make you feel more hopeless than seeing your children go to bed with an empty stomach.
“My kids are frequently malnourished, making them vulnerable to illnesses.
“There are times when the kids kept crying for food, but I had nothing to give them.”
This Father’s Day, you can make your dad proud by giving a goat in his honor to help a vulnerable family like Megerso’s. Your generous $88 goat gift will help to:
- Nourish hungry children with nutritious goat’s milk.
- Increase family income as they can sell the goat’s offspring.
- Buy school supplies and more so children can get an education.
- Help families build a flourishing future!
When you give a goat, you’ll get a free Father’s Day card you can download right away to print at home or email to that special father in your life in celebration of his life-changing love.
Thank you for considering a goat gift to celebrate your G.O.A.T. (Greatest Of All Time) dad this Father’s Day!
