“We love getting pictures and letters from the kids!”
What made Nanette and Todd jump at the chance to sponsor four children?
“We feel very blessed, since we’ve both been without at times in our lives,” says Todd.
“Giving back has always been a part of our lives. It’s not a responsibility we feel we ‘have’ to do but one we feel is so important, as human beings and Christians.”
They recently visited one of their sponsored children, Debora (above), in the Dominican Republic and say, “it was amazing!”
“It was great to see how Food for the Hungry is helping communities grow so the cycles of poverty can eventually be broken.”
Nanette and Todd are also getting their grandchildren excited about helping children in need.
“We’ve really enjoyed sharing our giving efforts with our grandkids.
“Each year, for Christmas and Easter, we give them a list of things they can pick out from Food for the Hungry’s gift catalog, then donate in their names. We give them a picture of what was donated in their names to try to help instil this excitement in them.”
And they’ve got some words of encouragement for you, too.
“Having seen firsthand how Food for the Hungry works with communities from the early stages to identify the root needs, to the communities that have been galvanized to greater levels of self-advocacy, we can help empower entire communities through our giving…and prayers.”
Nanette and Todd are so right. Together, there’s so much we can do!
Thank you for being part of our Food for the Hungry family and choosing to share your blessings to break cycles of poverty and see children thrive.
